History
Under the No Child Left behind Act of 2001 (NCLB), students currently enrolled in schools that have been in ?Needs Improvement? (NI) status for two or more years, may be eligible to receive Supplemental Educational Services (SES) Only students eligible to receive free or reduced lunch will be able to receive services through SES.
Supplemental Educational Services (SES) is a program which offers, free of charge, additional academic instruction (tutoring) outside of the regular school day. SES is designed to increase academic achievement of students living in low-income households and students attending schools which have been shown to be low-performing schools. Tutoring, under this program, is provided by state approved service providers. Tutoring services may take place at the service provider's location, in the student's home or any other pre-approved and predetermined location.
*Students who are eligible for SES, and who attend the following middle and/or high schools may participate in SES for the 2010-2011 school years. Eligibility is contingent upon the school's "Needs Improvement" status.
